    No, it does not, but you could claim for child care tax credit as you might need it to help you in volunteering.

    no it won’t, as long as you’re volunteering not getting paid to work. If you get anything, you have to declare it, or the value if it’s benefit in kind (lunch provided etc)

    You can’t claim the childcare element of WTC for volunteer work though. Both parents have to be employed in paid work – it only usually applies to lone parents, as with 2 people working you’re unlikely to qualify for WTC. Getting CTC doesn’t entitle you to help with childcare.
